How do I add the personaliser to my Shopify theme?

Open Online Store, then Themes, and click Customize. Go to your product template, click Add block, choose the Apps tab and select Papello personaliser. Drag it near your buy buttons and save. You only do this once and it shows on every personalised listing you publish.

Does it work with my Shopify theme?

It works with any Online Store 2.0 theme that supports app blocks, which covers Dawn and most themes released in recent years. The editor picks up your theme's button colour and corner style so it feels like part of your store.

What happens to the normal Add to cart button?

On personalised products it's hidden automatically, so every order goes through the personaliser and arrives with the customer's details attached. Your other products are not affected.

Which products can be personalised?

Any product in the Papello catalogue, from mugs and posters to greetings cards, notebooks and wrapping paper. Products with more than one print area, such as cards with a printed envelope, show each area as its own step in the editor.

What photos can customers upload?

JPG or PNG files up to 8 MB. Large photos are resized in the browser before upload, customers can adjust the framing, and they get a warning if a photo is too small to print sharply at that size.

How does the personalisation reach Papello?

The customer's answers are saved on the Shopify order line, so you can read them in your Shopify admin. A hidden copy of the raw values travels with the order too. Papello uses it to render full-resolution print files, with no copying and pasting from order notes.

Can I keep my own shipping rates?

Yes. When you publish a personalised listing you can charge Papello's live shipping rates at checkout, or keep your existing Shopify shipping profile while Papello handles fulfilment behind the scenes.

What if an order arrives without the personalisation details?

Papello holds that item as awaiting personalisation rather than printing it with the wrong details. A secure link lets the details be completed, and the order carries on to print as normal.

Create your template in the Papello Design Studio and choose which elements customers can change: text, photo uploads or image choices.

In Listings, choose the base product and sizes, set the artwork type to Personalised and pick your template. Add your pricing, description and mockups.

Publish to Shopify

Publish to your connected store. Papello creates the variants, links the template and routes fulfilment to the Papello Fulfillment location.
